ie. how the dog collar and thumb seem to be 3-d: shoot a pic with the hand. shoot a pic without the hand. photoshop them together.
It's not amazing. The illustrations are good, but they're combined with a simple gimmick every kid who ever got a C or better in Art class knows all about.
Escher's original prints are much more interesting. He also came up with the idea on his own and didn't get to use photoshop.
Thats my best guess anyway, since we can't get any larger pictures. Its possible that the left hand is actually drawn, but its so different from the style of drawing that everything else is, I doubt he would be a realism master.
Awesome pictures...and to the other comments - does it really matter if it's a real drawing or not? It seems like they're photoshopped...but it's cool photoshopping nevertheless.
